Richard Strieck

Richard J. Strieck, 77, of Bettendorf, passed away on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at Trinity Unity Point, Bettendorf.

A memorial service will be held at a later date and inurnment will follow at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to All Saints Catholic School, Davenport or to the Sisters of Humility Convent, Davenport.  McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Richard was born on May 9, 1944 in Bettendorf, the son of Walter and Dorothy (Allar) Strieck.  He graduated from Bettendorf High School in 1962.  Richard served in the National Guard and later completed his apprenticeship as a tool and die maker.  He worked for Caterpillar for over ten years as a tooling engineer, and later retired from the Rock Island Arsenal in 1999.  Richard enjoyed restoring cars and attending car shows.  He also enjoyed dancing and listening to his favorite band, ‘North of 40’.

Those left to honor his memory are his brother and sister-in-law, James & Marcia Strieck of Bettendorf; niece, Erin & Haley Wikoff and their daughter, Meyer of Davenport; niece, Carrie & Bill Coats and their children, Isaiah and Elena of Arlington, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
