Richard West

Richard West affectionately known as “Bo”, was born on November 15, 1947, to Alexander and Rachel (Witherspoon) West, in Clarksdale, Mississippi. He was a family man who enjoyed spending time with them.

Richard married the love of his life Bettie Jean Yarbrough on September 16, 1967 in Chicago, Illinois.  From this union they bore four children Rickey, Lucretia, Niolani and Lamont who recently preceded him in death. He is the tenth of eleven children

Richard worked for Madison equipment company for several years and went on to obtain a Commercial Drivers License and later worked for National Freight. He enjoyed barbecuing and family gatherings.

Richard passed away at the age of 73, on Thursday, November 19, 2020, at his home in Davenport, Iowa.

Richard is survived by his wife Bettie of Davenport, children Rickey, Lucretia and Niolani, sister, Nellie Williams, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and family friends.

A Memorial Celebration will be held at a later date.
