Richard A. Coon

Richard A. Coon, 63, of Davenport, Iowa, died Sunday, January 13, 2008 at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus, Davenport.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial with military honors provided by the American Legion Post 246 of Moline, Illinois will be at Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.
Richard was born July 22, 1944 in Davenport, the son of Clifford & Josephine (Paulsen) Coon. He was united in marriage to Linda Geffrey on August 16, 1968 in Davenport.
Richard served in the United States Army for three years and was honorably discharged in June of 1967.
He was retired from Uniparts Olsen, Inc. in Eldridge after ten years of employment as a machine operator. He enjoyed stock car racing, bowling, and watching eagles along the river.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Linda; his sons Terry (Jennifer) Coon and John Coon, all of Davenport; three grandchildren; his sister, Judy (Richard) Hahn, of Davenport; and his brothers, Clifford (Betty) Coon of Moline, and Gordon (Heather) Coon, of Davenport.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Gerald.
