Rick D. Christner, 61, of LeClaire, died Sunday, May 8, 2011 at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus in Davenport.
A memorial gathering will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at Boll’s Community Center in Princeton, Iowa.
Rick was born July 2, 1949 in LeClaire, the son of Art & Betty (Spinsby) Christner.
He had been employed as a millwright and welder for several years at Titan Wheel and most recently at Kenco of Bettendorf.
Rick was an avid hunter and fisherman as he enjoyed being outdoors. He was a life-long member of the National Rifle Association and Ducks Unlimited.
Those left to honor his memory include his sons and daughters-in-law, Robert & Angela Christner of Boone, Iowa and their children, Dane and Eva; Jeffrey & Julie Christner of Princeton and their children, Lindsay, Brian, Tommy, Matt and Emma; and Jason & Kris Christner of Midway, Georgia and their children, Blane, Logann, Taylor, Conner and Ryann; his father, Art Christner of LeClaire; his sister and brother-in-law, Cindy and Dennis Gibson of Davenport; his brother and sister-in-law, Randy & Julie Christner of LeClaire; and his sister-in-law, Carolyn Christner of LeClaire;
Rick was preceded in death by his mother, Betty; and his brother, Ronald.
