Rick Warren

Rick G. Warren, 61, of Park View, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at his residence.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Friday, April 29, 2011 at Chambers Funeral Home in Eldridge. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the services on Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Genesis Hospice.

Rick was born on June 22, 1949 in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Herbert & Mona (Carico) Warren. He served in the United States Navy during the Viet Nam Conflict and was honorable discharged in January of 1972. Rick was united in marriage to Vicki S. Reigel on November 3, 1973 in Des Moines.

Rick founded Pipeco, Inc. of Bettendorf in the early 1990’s and owned and operated the business until his retirement in 2006. He enjoyed car restoration and had built and drag raced cars for many years, as well as being a fan of NASCAR. Rick especially enjoyed the time spent with his family and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Vicki; his sons and daughters-in-law, Richard M. & Shana G. Warren of Lafayette, Louisiana and Chad J. & Christine D. Warren of Orlando, Florida; his grandchildren, Kathleen (Katie) Louise Warren, Samuel Edwin Warren and Maya Diane Warren; his mother, Mona Robertson of Indianola, Iowa; his sister, Debi (Randy) Saunders of Pueblo, Colorado; his brother, John (Jackie) Warren of Altoona, Iowa; and his step-sisters, Brenda (Dave) Spinner of St. Joseph, Missouri and Glee (Dave) Prichard of Des Moines.

Rick was preceded in death by his father, Herbert; and his step-father, Vaughn Robertson.
