Robert Hall

Robert O. Hall, 84, of Davenport, died Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Manor Care – Utica Ridge in Davenport.

Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Asbury United Methodist Church in Bettendorf. Burial with military honors will be at Rock Island National Cemetery in Rock Island. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 13 th and from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services on Wednesday, both at the church. Memorials may be made to American Veterans Association or Asbury United Methodist Church. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.

Robert was born on March 30, 1928 in Kansas City, KS, the son of Robert and Florence (Curtis) Hall.  On August 20, 1958 in Ankara, Turkey, he married Esin Korur.  She preceded him in death on November 19, 2003.

Robert served his country in the United States Marine Corps and the United States Air Force from 1948 – 1970. While in the Marine Corps, he fought during the Korean Conflict. While in the Air Force, Robert was a Senior Master Sergeant in the Office of Special Investigations.

Robert was an avid reader and enjoyed writing, painting and traveling with his wife.  He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church.

Those left to honor his memory include his son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Marti Hall of Davenport; two grandsons, Dylan and Samuel Hall; one niece, Henrietta and many great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Virginia.

Robert will be remembered for his contagious smile and kind hearted nature.
