Robert E. Quinn, 87, a resident of Bettendorf, died Sunday, December 3, 2017 at the Iowa Masonic Health Facility in Bettendorf.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Bettendorf. Visitation will be one hour prior to Mass at the church. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Albia, Iowa. Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Cemetery. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on March 23, 1930 in Stuart, Iowa, Bob was the son of Martin and Maude (Minard) Quinn. On December 29, 1952 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Albia, he married Mary Malone.
Bob served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired from John Morrell Co., also working for J.I. Case and Riverbend Transit. Bob’s memberships included: Knights of Columbus 4th Degree, American Legion, and St. John Vianney Catholic Church where he was active in the Men’s Fellowship Group.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Mary; sons, Michael Quinn of Brighton, Iowa, William Quinn of Bettendorf, and Steven (Kristy) Quinn of Washington, Iowa; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Jeffrey; brothers, John, Leo, and Joe Quinn; and a sister, Nellie Quinn.
