Roberta Elizabeth Anderson, 86, a resident of Davenport, Iowa died on Sunday, June 1, 2014 at the Clarissa Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, Iowa.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, June 5, 2014 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. She will be laid to rest at Pine Hill Cemetery in Davenport. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
She was born on June 21, 1927 in Missouri, the daughter of Robert J. & Alice Elizabeth (Solomon) Sportsman. On April 13, 1947, she was united in marriage to Leonard Dale Anderson in Marceline, Missouri. He preceded her in death on May 8, 2014.
Roberta was a devoted wife, mom & grandma who enjoyed bowling, traveling, playing the organ and enjoying the company of her beloved family and friends.
Those left to honor her memory include her sons, Robert (Janice) Anderson of Port Byron, Illinois and Terry (Barbara) Anderson of Coal Valley, Illinois; her grandchildren, Brenda, Matthew, Bobby, Jennifer and Brian; nineteen great-grandchildren; her brother, Roy Sportsman of Kansas City, Missouri; and several nieces & nephews.
