Robert Eugene "Bob" Griebel

Robert Eugene “Bob” Griebel, 64, a resident of Davenport died Saturday, June 06, 2009 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mount Joy Cemetery, Park View, Iowa. Memorials may be made to the family or the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.
Bob was born January 8, 1945 in Davenport the son of Raymond “Jim” and M. Lois (Connole) Griebel. He was united in marriage to Linda Brewster on July 4, 1964 in Long Grove, Iowa. She preceded him in death in 2001.
Bob worked as a welder for John Deere until retirement in 1998. He enjoyed riding Harley Davidsons, bingo and the casino boats. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Those left to honor his memory include his daughters, Robin Griebel, Davenport and Regina Hofeldt, Davenport; his grandchildren, Aaron Griebel, Raylin Hofeldt and Recinda Hofeldt all of Davenport; his great grandson, Tristan Chambers; his step-mother, Evelyn Griebel, Dewitt, Iowa; his sisters, Deborah Griebel, Walcott, Iowa, Stephanie (Dean) Gustafson, Camanche, Iowa and Karin Duffey, Dewitt and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife, Linda, he was preceded in death by his infant daughter, his parents and his brother James.
