Rob was born October 5, 1943 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Robert & Maxine (Schurke) Evers. He married his high-school sweetheart, Eileen Fay Roloff on August 24, 1963 in Sterling, Illinois.
Rob began his career with John Deere & Company Business Systems in Moline, Illinois in 1965 after graduating from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois where he earned a degree in Business Administration. In 1968 he transferred to Ottumwa Works. While there, his assignments included Manager of Business Systems, Production Control, Quality Management, and Purchasing. In 1994, he earned his Masters of Business Administration from St. Ambrose University in Davenport. In 1997 he was selected Manager of Materials.
In March 1999, Rob transferred back to Moline where he was responsible for the Acquire Material sub-process design. He was Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) and a Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM). Following his retirement from John Deere, Rob worked as Vice President of Procurement for Trinity Logistics Corporation in Davenport. He truly enjoyed the challenges of his profession.
Rob was devoted to his family and his Lord, Jesus Christ. He served his churches, Trinity Lutheran Church in Ottumwa and Our Savior Lutheran Church in Bettendorf, in numerous different offices and capacities. Rob lived out his faith by consistently placing others’ needs before his own. He enjoyed jogging, camping, biking, hiking, model railroading and spending time with his beloved family. He was an exceptional husband, father, son, grandfather and friend-he will be sorely missed.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Eileen; his daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl & Brian Mahoney, of Clive, Iowa, Danette & David Rose, of Geneseo, Illinois, and Susan & Aaron Eversmeyer, of Muscatine, Iowa; his father, Robert Sr., of Sterling, Illinois; his grandchildren, Ben & Matt Mahoney, Rachel & Kristen Rose, and Jon & Zach Eversmeyer; his sister-in-law, Georgine (Roger) Thompson, of Longwood, Florida; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and his niece, Michele Thompson.
