Robert "Pete" Miller

Robert G. “Pete” Miller, 72, a resident of Bettendorf, died peacefully on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at the Kahl Home in Davenport.

Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Memorials may be made to King’s Harvest Pet Rescue.

Born on July 11, 1943 in Savanna, Illinois, Pete was the son of Jack and Charlotte “Sis” (Eadie) Miller. On August 17, 1965 in Columbus, Georgia, he married Trudy Hamil.

Pete was employed by and retired in 1999 from the Rock Island Arsenal. He was a logistic manager for fielding and training of self-propelled artillery equipment, which required him to travel extensively worldwide. He enjoyed golfing, woodworking, attending Bettendorf football games and wrestling meets, and traveling. Pete cherished his time spent with family and friends.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Trudy; children, Lori Culp, Jeff (Kathy) Miller and Michael (Sara) Miller, all of Bettendorf; seven grandchildren, Joshua Ransford, Tyler Culp, Jordan Miller, Riley Miller, Addie Miller, Abby Shumate and Trey Miller; one great-granddaughter, Juliette Ransford; and a sister, Joanne (Robert) Brady of Iowa City.

He was preceded in death by his parents. May they rest in peace.
