Roger D. Havenhill, 87, of LeClaire, Iowa, passed away on Monday, August 24, 2020 at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 29, 2020 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services on Saturday at the funeral home. Face masks and social distancing measures will be required. Memorials may be made to the Princeton Presbyterian Church of Princeton, Iowa or to oneeighty.org (an organization existing to bring hope, love and opportunity to people and communities impacted by crisis, poverty, or addiction.)
Roger was born June 21, 1933 in Wapello, Iowa, the son of Samuel T. & Beulah (Marlette) Havenhill. He had served in the United States Army. Roger was united in marriage to Beverly J. Graham on October 24, 1952 in Princeton.
Roger was retired from Alcoa after 30 years of employment. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, reading and lawn bowling. He had also enjoyed tennis in his earlier years.
Those left to honor his memory include his son and daughter-in-law, Douglas & Theresa Havenhill of Cave Creek, Arizona; his daughter and son-in-law, Jo & Anthony Phares of LeClaire; his grandchildren, Jessica Morin, Brenda Holmes, Patrick Havenhill, Anthony D. Phares and Kryslynne Fenton; and his great-grandchildren, Baylie Havenhill, Dagny Holmes and Doug Holmes.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Jackie Havenhill; his brothers, Samuel W. Havenhill and Ron “Keith” Havenhill; and his nephew, Timothy Havenhill.
