Roger L. Schwerdtfeger, 81, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2024 at his home. Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. A celebration of life will follow at Knight of Columbus, 1111 W. 35th St. in Davenport on Saturday, August 3, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and everyone is welcome.  McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home of Bettendorf, Iowa is assisting the family with arrangements.

Roger was born June 20, 1943 in Davenport, the son of Harold & Margaret (Enderle) Schwerdtfeger. He was united in marriage to Rosamary A. Wright on June 10, 1961 in Davenport. He had retired as a coremaker with the former Blackhawk Foundry in Davenport. 

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Rosamary;his sons and daughters-in-law, Richard (Alicia) Schwerdtfeger of Alabama, Tommy (Kimberly) Schwerdtfeger of Bettendorf and Johnnie Schwerdtfeger of Davenport; nineteen grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Roger was preceded in death by his son, William H. Schwerdtfeger; his parents; his in-laws, Johnny and Rosa Wright; his sisters, Mary Claire Krell, Nyline Six and Margaret Sexton; and his brothers, George, Harry, Glenn, James, Allen and Harold Schwerdtfeger.
