Roger D. Stichter, 64, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at Trinity at Terrace Park Hospital in Bettendorf following an apparent massive heart attack.
His funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, November 17, 2007 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel in Bettendorf. Burial will be in McCausland Cemetery where military honors will be conducted. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.
He was born March 24, 1943 in Princeton, Iowa, the son of Emory Hugo & Fina Marie (Fuller) Stichter. On December 9, 1967, he was united in marriage to Jackie K. Klauser in Bettendorf.
Roger was a U.S. Navy veteran and served during the Viet Nam Conflict.
He was employed as an electroplater at the Rock Island Arsenal, retiring in 2005 after 25 years of service.
Roger thoroughly enjoyed his retirement and spent many enjoyable hours working in his garage and spending time on the computer.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Jackie; his sons, Brian (Laura) Stichter of Arena, Wisconsin and Matt Stichter of Bettendorf and his fiancé, Catt; his grandchildren, Brittney and Jacob; his sisters, Virginia (Donald) Martin of Holiday, Florida and Shirley (Dean) Schwanki of Hannibal, Missouri; his brothers, Gary Stichter, Bill (Vicki) Stichter, Rick (Debbie) Stichter, all of McCausland, Randy (Janet) Stichter of Sigourney, Iowa and Darold Stichter of Davenport, Iowa; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and wonderful friends.
Roger was preceded in death by his father in 1953, his mother in 2007 and his brother, Don in 2007.
