Ronald E. Ingleby, 84, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died on Sunday, September 22, 2013 at the Clarissa Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf following an extended illness.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, September 27. 2013 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church of Bettendorf.  Visitation will be from 9:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Friday at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Disease Foundation, St. John Vianney Catholic Church or the Clarissa Cook Hospice House.  McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home of Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.

He was born on March 19, 1929 in Rochester, New York, the son of Elmore & Florence (Scherer) Ingleby and was a graduate of the Clarkson College of Engineering in Potsdam, New York.  On March 26, 1951, he was united in marriage to Ruth McFadden in Rochester.

Ron retired as Plant Manager of the Occidental Chemical Company of Buffalo, Iowa after many years of faithful service.

In his spare time, he enjoyed playing golf, playing cards with friends, dancing, singing & traveling.  Above all, his beloved family was the joy of his life and although he will be sadly missed, his memory will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew & loved him.

Those left to honor his memory include his beloved wife, Ruth; his sons, Thomas (Kristi) Ingleby of Marshalltown, Iowa, Mike Ingleby of Davenport, Iowa and Jeffrey (Diana) Ingleby of Knoxville, Tennessee; his grandchildren, Lindsey, Shannon (Haike), Laura (Tim), Breanna (Dave), Taylor, Matt (Madeline), Katie, Steve, Nikki (Greg), Jake and Rachel; his great-grandchildren, Kailynn and Jantz; and his sister-in-law, Lu Ingleby of Rochester, New York.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Ralph Ingleby; and by an infant daughter.
