Ronald G. Buchholz, 51, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa and formerly of Tripoli, Iowa died on Sunday, March 30, 2008 at Trinity Pathway Hospice in Bettendorf.
A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 12, 2008 at Heartland Vineyard in Cedar Falls, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Buchholz family in care of Heartland Vineyard, 1405 Greenhill Rd., Cedar Falls, Iowa 50613. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home of Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.
He was born October 6, 1956 in Waverly, Iowa, the son of Raymond & Joan (Cosby) Buchholz and was a graduate of Tripoli High School. On October 12, 2007, he was united in marriage to Laurie A. VonDresky in Waterloo, Iowa.
Ron was employed for 24 years with his brother, Roger in the operation of B&B Wholesales in Waterloo.
He was active in pool leagues, bowling leagues and was an avid golfer. He loved to fish, enjoyed the out-of-doors and treasured the times spent with family and friends. Ron was an incredible husband & father and according to his beloved wife Laurie, “He was truly the love of my life.”
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Laurie; his daughter, Nichole Arends; step-daughters, Erin VonDresky and Nickole Spahr; his step-son, Tony VonDresky; his father, Raymond Buchholz of Nashua, Iowa; his sisters, Marily Schaufenbuel and Phyllis Hyde; his brothers, Larry (Mary Lou) Buchholz, Raymond (Tammie) Buchholz, David Buchholz, Roger (Kathie ) Buchholz, Allen (Deb) Buchholz and Barry (Debra) Buchholz; and his brother-in-law, Joe Dunning.
His mother, Joan Buchholz and his sister-in-law, Rose Buchholz preceded him in death.
