Rose Mcgill

Rose Marie McGill, 71, a resident of Eldridge, passed away, Sunday, July 3, 2016 at her home.
Private family services were held. Burial will be at a later date at Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family for the benefit of her two favorite charities.
Born on March 27, 1945 in Davenport, Rose was the daughter of Joseph and Esther (Grommel) Baker. On May 28, 1965 in Rock Island, she married Ronald Lee McGill.
Rose worked as the Director of Food Service for the North Scott School District for 28 years. She enjoyed going to the casino, reading, playing on her iPad and riding with Ron on their Harley Davidson motorcycle.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Ron; children, Lisa (Brad) Arnold of DeWitt and Scott McGill of Davenport; her special “daughters,” Nikki Tuftee of McCausland and Laurie Judge of Long Grove; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; sister, Esther Peters of Davenport; and a brother, Joseph (Beverly) Baker of Rock Island.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Elizabeth Ellerman and Joan Meyer.
