Rose Marie (Moore) Ryan, 85, a resident of the Davenport Good Samaritan Center, Davenport, Iowa died on Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at the center.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 17, 2006 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf, Iowa. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial may be made to St. Andrew Presbyterian Church of Davenport or to the Good Samaritan Nursing Center.
She was born March 25, 1921 in Davenport, the daughter of Peter & Agnes (Nord) Darell. On December 20, 1943, she was united in marriage to Chalmer S. Moore in Davenport. He preceded her in death on December 21, 1961. On October 20, 1973, she was united in marriage to William A. Ryan in Davenport. He preceded her in death on February 22, 1999.
Rose was employed as an accounting technician at the Rock Island Arsenal, retiring in 1986 after 20 years of service.
She was a long-time and loyal member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church where she had served as an elder and a deacon. She loved being active in the church and also enjoyed playing cards with her family & friends. In addition to the church, she was a member of the Davenport Moose Lodge Auxiliary Chapter 106.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Charlene (Charlie) Roenfeldt of Blue Grass, Iowa; her sons, Dr. Michael (Dr. Deborah) Moore of Kansas City, Kansas and Chalmer “Sam” (Sherri) Moore Jr. of Davenport; her step-daughter, Mary (Tom) DeLillie of Moline, Illinois; her step-sons, Patrick (Ellen) Ryan of Davenport and Michael Ryan of Ft. Madison, Iowa; eighteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; her sister, Helen Gomez of Pueblo, Colorado; and her brother, Alfred Darell of Bettendorf.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her step-daughter, Sally Aschemann.
