Rosemary Kimmel Wooldridge, 93, died on Tuesday June 10, 2014 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf. Rosemary Iossi was born February 11, 1921 in Colton, S.D. to William and Mary (Ingraham) Iossi. She grew up in Davenport, graduated from Davenport High School in 1940 and was a licensed beautician. She married J. Byron Kimmel March 22, 1946 in Davenport, who preceded her in death July 21, 1990. She owned and operated Rosemary’s Beauty Salon from 1956 until 1976. She married W. Reid Wooldridge April 16, 1994, who preceded her in death August 31, 1998. Rosemary was an active lifelong member of St. John’s United Methodist Church. She loved to travel and enjoyed frequent gatherings with friends and family. Her cheerful outlook and generous spirit were an inspiration to many.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 13th at St. John’s United Methodist Church of Davenport. As the giving person she was, Rosemary chose to donate her body to The University of Iowa College of Medicine. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House or St. John’s United Methodist Church. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home of Bettendorf, Iowa is assisting the family with arrangements.
Rosemary is survived by daughters Nancy (Robert) Ward, Dee (Jenny Kennedy) Kimmel, and Marilyn (Allen) Weidner; her grandchildren Kelly (Tom) Loy, Andrea Weidner, and Jordan (Tara) Weidner; her great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Hadlie and Everett; and her stepson, Jim (Deb) Wooldridge and their family.
