Rosemary (Thomas) Davis

Rosemary (Thomas) Davis, 69, a resident of Davenport, Iowa died on Saturday, June 26, 2008 at the Clarissa Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, Iowa.
Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, August 1, 2008 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel in Bettendorf. Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.
She was born April 24, 1939 in Tchula, Mississippi, the daughter of Branch & Rachel (Hawkins) Thomas. She was united in marriage to J. D. Davis in Davenport. He preceded her in death on July 29, 2004.
Rosemary was a homemaker and in earlier years, worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
She enjoyed entertaining her family & friends in her home and loved to cook as well. She also enjoyed being with her church family at the House of the Lord Mission Church in Davenport.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughters, Pat Thomas-Manuel, Emma Thomas & her fiancé, Corey and Lynda (Dana) Larson, all of Davenport; her sons, Steven Thomas, James Thomas & his fiancé, Jeriann, Melvin Thomas, Marvin Thomas, David Thomas and Garcia (Joan) Thomas, all of Davenport; twenty-seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and her brother, John Henry Thomas of Davenport.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Tammie, her sisters, Mary Simms and Anna Mae Williams, and her brothers, George Thomas, J.C. Thomas, W.L. Thomas, Henry Thomas, Richard Thomas, William Thomas & Willie Thomas.
