Russell H. “Rusty” Fierce, 59, of Silvis, Illinois, died Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Genesis Medical Center-Illini Campus in Silvis.
His memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at the community room in Illini Towers, 940 Crosstown Avenue in Silvis. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Brain Injury Alliance of Iowa.
Russell was born March 21, 1957 in Rock Island, Illinois, the son of Warren C. & Annabelle L. (Young) Fierce. He had been employed in previous years with Bi-State Vending and Blessing Gardens. Rusty had also served in the Iowa National Guard and the Army Reserves.
Rusty enjoyed puzzles, playing bingo at Illini Towers, reading, history and politics. Well-liked and outgoing, he enjoyed the company of his cat, Katy and will be missed by his family and friends.
Those left to honor Rusty’s memory include his long-time companion of forty years, Margaret Johansen of Silvis; his sister, Annabelle (Dennis) Asleson of Grand Mound, Iowa; his brothers, Warren (Linda) Fierce of Davenport, Thomas (Debbie) Fierce of Missouri and Charles Fierce of Wisconsin; and several nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
