Ruth Hearne

Ruth K. Hearne, 94, formerly of Davenport, died Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Illini Restorative Care in Silvis, Illinois.
Private family services will be held at Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.
Ruth was born on March 13, 1922, the daughter of Harold and Katherina (Behrens) Fischer. On July 3, 1948, she married James Hearne. He preceded her in death on February 3, 1990.
Ruth completed her nursing training at the former Moline Public Hospital and went on to work as a registered nurse in the obstetrics unit at Monmouth Hospital. Ruth enjoyed gardening and doing yard work.
Those left to honor her memory include her sons and their spouses, Scott and Dottie Hearne of Blue Grass and Brian and Becky Hearne of Moline; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a son, Douglas Hearne.
