Ruth Littrel

Ruth E. Littrel, 95, a resident of Bettendorf Health Care Center, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at the care center.
Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 30, 2013 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Burial will be at Summit Cemetery in rural Davenport. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services on Monday. Memorials may be made to New Hope Presbyterian Church in Davenport or Hospice Compassus.
Ruth was born on January 17, 1918 in Argo, the daughter of Walter Raymond and Martha Elizabeth (Leamer) Kirby. She married Arthur Littrel in Iowa City. He preceded her in death on April 24, 1984.
Ruth was a member of New Hope Presbyterian Church in Davenport. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughters, Nancy Oswald of Bettendorf, Lora Peterson of Prairie Grove, AR and Alma Huber of Aurora, CO; her sons, Walter Littrel of Fruitland, IA, Lyle (Charlene) Littrel of Deer Park, WA and Alvin Littrel of Blue Grass; 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Horace, Marvin and Floyd Kirby; and sisters, Helen Moran and Neva Danson.
