Ruth Maria Rudolf, 81, a resident of Bettendorf, passed away July 8, 2015, at Genesis Medical Center-East Rusholme Street, Davenport.
A memorial visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday, July 12, 2015, at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association or National Kidney Foundation.
Born on April 1, 1934, in Oppeln, Germany, Ruth was the daughter of Gustav and Elisabeth (Boehm) Reichert. Ruth moved to the United States at the age of 19. In 1974, she met John Rudolf. They were married on March 13, 1976, in Rock Island.
Ruth worked for Modern Woodmen of America, and then worked for Deere & Co. for 24 years, retiring in 1987. She enjoyed gambling, travel, cooking and was an avid reader. Ruth was a people person who loved to socialize. She loved all kinds of music, especially polka. Ruth was a former member of D.A.N.K. and the German American Family Club.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, John Rudolf, Bettendorf; sister, Walztraut Reichert, Germany; and brothers, Paul Reichert, Canada, and Rudolf Reichert, Germany.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
