Ryan K. Shadden, 40, of Clinton, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, March 31, 2025.
A gathering to celebrate Ryan’s life will be held from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf, Iowa, concluding with a time of sharing at 4:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
Ryan was born on October 2, 1984, in Davenport, Iowa, to Robert and Shelly (Docherty) Shadden. On April 1, 2019, he married the love of his life, Katie Trujillo, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Their love was a beautiful adventure, filled with laughter, deep conversations, and unwavering support for one another.
Ryan was a hard worker and took great pride in his business, “Rise N Shine” Auto Detailing in Clinton. He poured his heart into his work, always striving to make each car shine as brightly as his personality. But more than anything, Ryan was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend.
Ryan’s heart belonged to his family. His children—Maya, Marĩa, Kinnick, Conor, and Joshawa—were his greatest pride and joy. Whether it was sharing his love for the Chicago White Sox and Iowa Hawkeyes, or teaching them about the great outdoors, every moment with them was cherished. He was an avid hunter and loved the thrill of the chase, but nothing compared to the time spent with those he loved.
Ryan had a way of making everyone around him feel welcome and valued. His humor was infectious, his kindness unmatched, and his presence simply unforgettable.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Katie; his five amazing children; his parents, Shelly & Joe Martin of Davenport and Robert & Cindy Shadden of Rock Island, Illinois; his grandmother, Jeanne Docherty of Davenport; his siblings, Paige Martin of Iowa City, Jesse Shadden of Tennessee, and Nick (Kayley) Martin of Bondurant, Iowa; his brothers-in-law, TJ (Stephany) Trujillo of Camanche, Iowa, Austin (Rhianna) Trujillo of Colona, Illinois and Brandon Trujillo in Arizona; his sisters-in-law, Nicole (Brandon) Conger of Davenport and Heather Shadden of LeClaire; his mother-in-law, Kristine Trujillo of LeClaire; and countless relatives and friends who will forever hold his memory close.
Ryan is now reunited in heaven with his brother, Brent Shadden; his niece, Lucy Shadden; and his grandparents. While his time here was far too short, the love and laughter he shared will never fade.
Those who knew Ryan will remember his unwavering love for his family, his hardworking spirit, and the way he could light up a room with just a smile. His story continues in the hearts of those he touched, and he will be deeply missed.
