Sally Ann Leinhauser, 68, of Bettendorf, passed away Sunday, December 13, 2015 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.
A visitation will be held Thursday, December 17, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. An additional visitation will be held Saturday, December 19, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. with the funeral service to follow at Delaney Funeral Home in Marceline, Missouri. Burial will be at Nester Chapel in New Boston, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
Born on February 15, 1947 in Des Moines, Iowa, Sally was the daughter of Marvin “Pete” and Mary (Donahue) Cook. She married Michael Leinhauser on January 27, 1966 in Des Moines.
Sally worked in claims in the insurance industry. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking and playing scrabble. Sally cherished her time spent with family. She was a member of Grace and Truth Baptist Church in Bettendorf.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Michael; daughter, Holly Leinhauser of Bettendorf; son, Michael (Donna) Leinhauser of Chicago, Illinois; grandchildren, Addie (Cameron), Carlin (Jordan), Samuel (Shawna), Alec, Blake and Mia; sister, Thoma Lou (Frank) Maddy of Bluff Dale, Texas; brothers, Steven Cook of Chariton, Iowa, Douglas Cook of Phoenix, Arizona, Gary Cook of Hartford, Iowa, David (Melinda) Cook of New Boston, Missouri, James Cook of New Boston, Missouri and Patrick Cook of Skiatook, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
