Sandra Hudson

November 9, 1947 — April 28, 2022

Sandra “Sandy” J. Hudson, 74, of Davenport passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.

Private family services will be held at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf.  Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery.  A celebration of life for friends and family to attend will be held at a later date.  Memorials may be directed to the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.

Sandy was born on November 9, 1947 in Whitehall, Wisconsin, the daughter of Paul A. and Lilly M. (Peterson) Erickson.  She graduated from Davenport Central High School in 1965.  On November 15, 1969 she married Don K. Hudson at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Davenport.  In her earlier years, Sandy worked at the Rock Island Arsenal.  After raising her children, she worked as an administrative assistant at Gene’s Radiator and later Threaded Products Inc., until her retirement.  She enjoyed bowling and participated in various local bowling leagues.  She and Don also enjoyed camping at Backbone State Park.  Above all, Sandy loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Those left to honor her memory are her husband, Don Hudson of Davenport; her children, Andy (Stacey Zabel-Hudson) Hudson of Bettendorf and Heidi Hudson of Rock Island; six grandchildren, Devin (Nicole) Fountain, Alexander Ayers, Madelynn Woodward, Spencer Hudson, Emma Hudson, and Gage Zabel; her sister, Linda Kiddoo of Moline; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as a host of honorary grandchildren that held a special place in her heart.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lilly Anne Woodward; and a brother, Paul A. Erickson.
