Sandra L. Liston

             Sandra L. Liston, 75, beloved wife, daughter, sister, and aunt passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Genesis Medical Center – East Campus, Davenport.

          Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.  Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery.  Memorials may be directed to Center for Active Seniors, Inc. (CASI), 1035 W. Kimberly Rd., Davenport, IA 52806. 

          Sandra was born November 19, 1947 in Rock Island, Illinois, to Vernon and Leona (Martin) Jacobs. In 1965, she graduated from Rock Island High School and continued her education at the American Institute of Commerce.  In 1977 she relocated to Arizona where she resided for over 40 years.  Sandra worked as a bookkeeper at various businesses in and around Scottsdale, Phoenix, Tempe, and Mesa.  On December 14, 1996, she married Conrad Liston in Scottsdale.  During the summer months they enjoyed going to Pinetop-Lakeside, Arizona where they made many memories and lifelong friendships.  Following her husband’s passing in 2021, Sandra moved to Davenport to be closer to her family. 

Sandra will be remembered for her many talents, including sewing, crocheting, and cross stitching.  She was an active member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary and at CASI, where she devoted much of her time to helping with the food pantry. 

          Those left to honor her memory are her sister, Sue (Mike) Thompson of Bettendorf; nieces, Emily Thompson of Des Moines and Melissa (Justin) Galbraith of Riverdale, Iowa; great-nieces and nephews, Allison and Owen Landis, both of Des Moines, and Adalyn and Agustus “Gus” Galbraith, both of Riverdale; and her dog, Sally Sue.

          She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
