Sandra S. Johnson

Sandra S. Guffey Johnson, 84, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2024, at Quartet Senior Living in Bettendorf after a brief illness.

Sandy was born on February 1, 1940, in Unionville, Missouri, one of seven children born to Elvin (Lee) and Evelyn Guffey. She graduated from Bettendorf High School in 1958. She married Gary Lockie in 1961 in Bettendorf, Iowa and later married Burl Johnson in 1990 in Waukesha, Wisconsin. She worked as an Office Manager for CountryCraft Furniture Company, retiring in 2001. 

Sandy enjoyed traveling, golf, puzzles, and winters in Florida. She loved spending time with her family and many lifelong friends, who will always remember her as fun, generous and kind. 

Sandy is survived by her children, Brenda (Charles) Paul of Tampa, Florida and Brian Lockie of Elmhurst, Illinois; her sister, Glenda Guffey of Bettendorf, Iowa and her five brothers, John Guffey of Phoenix, Arizona, Randy Guffey of Davenport, Iowa, Frank Guffey and Don Guffey of Bettendorf, Iowa, and Gary Guffey of Mt. Carroll, IL. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Burl Johnson, her parents Lee and Evelyn Guffey, and her grandson, Austin Paul. 

A Celebration of Life for her friends and family will be held on Friday, August 9th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Holiday Inn and Suites on Elmore Avenue in Davenport, IA.
