Scharlet F. Mulvania-Higgins

Scharlet F. Mulvania-Higgins, 72, of Princeton, Iowa and formerly of LeClaire, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2023 in LeClaire.

Her funeral service will be held at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf, Iowa.  Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in Glendale Cemetery in LeClaire.  Memorials may be made to the family.

Scharlet was born June 27, 1951 in Dexter, Missouri, the daughter of Howard & Dorothy (Brown) Overton.  She was united in marriage to Kenneth E. Mulvania on December 23, 1966 in St. Louis, Missouri.  He preceded her in death on March 20, 2011.  She later was united in marriage to Michael Higgins on November 5, 2022 in LeClaire.

Scharlet enjoyed reading, particularly murder mysteries and television shows such as Murder She Wrote and Columbo.  She loved her flower garden and especially loved spending time with her family and grandkids and the many dinners they had shared together.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Mike; her daughters and sons-in-law, Dianna Mulvania & Claude King of Des Moines, Iowa and Lori & Courtney “Hacky” Davis of Maquoketa, Iowa; her sons and daughters-in-law, Chuck & Teresa Mulvania of LeClaire, Allen Mulvania & Louise Bowley of Davenport and Michael Mulvania & Laura Jones of Lebanon, Missouri; Mike’s daughter Carrie King; eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren;  her sisters and brothers-in-law, Sue & Clet Patterson, Joyce & Sonny Moser, Barbara Salavarria, and Linda & Ron Nauceder; and her brothers and sisters-in-law, Sonny & Lucy Overton and Charles & Lisa Overton.

In addition to her husband, Ken; Scharlet was preceded in death by her parents; and her granddaughter, Angel Mulvania-Blake.
