Sharon L. Dickson, 67, a resident of Port Byron, Illinois was called to Heaven on Thursday and is now dancing on the streets of gold. She fought a long & courageous battle with cancer before God called her home.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 1:30 P.M. Monday, May 8, 2006 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf, Iowa. Visitation will be from 12:30 P.M. to 1:30 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Imagine Fund of Calvary Church of the Quad-Cities, Moline, Illinois.
She was born August 2, 1938 in Erie, Illinois, the daughter of Edwin & Ruth (Fox) Pugh. On August 22, 1987, she was united in marriage to Jerald M. Dickson in Davenport, Iowa.
Sharon retired in 1994 from the Quality Assurance Department of Oscar Mayer & Company in Davenport where she had been employed for 16 years. In earlier years, she worked for many years for Associated Dentists, P.C. of Newton, Iowa.
She was a devoted member of Calvary Church of the Quad-Cities. Among the things she enjoyed were planting & caring for flowers and camping, but above all else, her beloved family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-granddaughters were the joy of her life.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Jerald; her sons & daughters-in-law, Gary & Julie Dodds of Newton, Iowa and Randy & Linda Dodds of Port Byron; her step-daughters, Michelle Dickson-Schmidt of Bettendorf and Jodi Malmgren & her husband, Rich of Peculiar, Missouri; her grandchildren, Cameron & Hayley; Chris, Lindsey, Riley & Taylor; Mason & Maverick; and Jacob, Alexa & Nikolas; her great-granddaughters, Allegra & Maizie; her sister, Charlotte Epping of Mesa, Arizona; and her mother-in-law, Roma Dickson of Davenport, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles & David; and by her parents.
