Sheila J. Wilson, 72, of Bettendorf, Iowa passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf. She fought a courageous battle, with grace and dignity.
A memorial gathering will be held from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Memorials may be made to the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, or an animal rescue shelter of your choice
Sheila was born on August 15, 1946 in Rock Island, Illinois, the daughter of Harry and Marylyn (Baird) Wilson. She was employed as a Defense Contract Specialist with the Rock Island Arsenal for thirty-two years before retiring about four years ago. She loved to read, especially mysteries, as well as watching movies, frequenting the Hallmark channel, going to the theater to see a play or a musical, listening to 50’s and 60’s music and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Amy (Lance) Stockwell of Bettendorf; her grandchildren, Addison and Garrett of Bettendorf; her sister Paula (Craig) Tigerman of Apple Valley, Minnesota; her brother, Tom (Vickie) Wilson of Bettendorf; and her best friend, her dog, Stella; along with many nieces and nephews.
Sheila was preceded in death by her parents.
The family would like to express their utmost appreciation to the Genesis physicians and nurses, Home Instead caregivers, Genesis Hospice and the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House for the care and love they provided for Sheila.
