Shelly L. Howell

Shelly L. Howell, 68, of Milan, Illinois, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2025 at her home.

Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 14, 2025 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday evening at the funeral home. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the family.

Shelly was born September 22, 1956 in Davenport, the daughter of Jackson & Barbara (Pollock) Paaske. She was united in marriage to Larry Howell in Milan in 1992. He preceded her in death in May of 2017.

Shelly had been employed with the Rock Island School System for many years and the Sherrard school system in earlier years. Shelly had earned her license in cosmetology in earlier years and she was a former member of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed watching NASCAR, camping and caring for her garden.

Those left to honor her memory include her children, Ashly (Zeb) Hubner, Derek Hamilton and Garrett Hamilton, all of Eldridge; her grandchildren, Liam & Daxton Hamilton and Quinn, Reese and Brady Hubner; her sister, Brenda (David) Whitney of Silvis; and her companion and close friend, Ron Darwin of Milan.

In addition to her husband, Larry, Shelly was preceded in death by her parents.
