Shirley A. Boesch, 88, a former resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Brookdale Oro Valley in Oro Valley, Arizona.
A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at Our Savior Lutheran Church of Bettendorf where she was a member. She will be laid to rest at Glendale Cemetery in LeClaire, Iowa. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Monday, February 5, 2024 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Memorials may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church.
Shirley was born in Iowa City, Iowa on June 11, 1935, the daughter of Louis C. and V. Dorene (Edwards) Seidel. On January 5, 1980, she was united in marriage to John W. Boesch in Moline, Illinois. John preceded her in death on June 17, 2011.
Shirley worked in the City Clerk’s office for the City of Moline for many years, retiring in 1984.
In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling, took an avid interest in history, had varied musical interests, loved gardening and treasured the times spent with her beloved family.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Lynn (Joseph) Farrell of Tucson, Arizona; her sons, Kirk (Karen) Mueller of Los Osos, California and Matthew (Maureen) Mueller of Lakeside, Arizona; her grandchildren, Peter, Emily, Alex, Matthew, and Douglas; her great-grandson, Wyatt; Shirley and John’s grandchildren Matt Boesch, J.D Boesch and Chad Ackerman, along with many other relatives and wonderful friends.
