Shirley B. Roberts, 91, of Bettendorf, Iowa, died Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Monday, March 13, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at The Fountains in Bettendorf.
Shirley was born on July 29, 1925 in Joliet, Illinois, the daughter of Earl and Regina (Juver) Barger.
Shirley married the love of her live, Frederick Francis Roberts Sr. on December 1, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois. He preceded her in death on June 7, 1985.
Shirley cherished her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and crafts. She also loved her life at The Fountains.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Regina (Ivor) Rowland of Bettendorf, Iowa; her son, Fred F. Roberts, Jr. of Phoenix, Arizona; her grandchildren, Benjamin, Katherine (Jon) Franzen and Andrew; her great-grandchildren, Alisson, Isaiah, Evelyn, Sophia and Arthur.
Her daughter posted on Facebook: “My beautiful, smart, sassy, kind, funny, determined mother passed away Wednesday, and her family will miss her desperately. We take comfort in knowing that she has finally been reunited with her beloved husband, Fred. We are forever grateful to all the amazing professionals who have helped us take care of her over the past years, and we are thankful for the thoughts and prayers of our friends and everyone who knew her.
