Shirley Ann Schaab, 83, formerly of Bettendorf, died Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Rock Island Nursing and Rehab Center in Rock Island.
A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, May 29, 2015 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Bettendorf. Visitation will be one hour prior to mass at the church. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Davenport. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
Born on September 17, 1931 in St. Louis, Missouri, Shirley was the daughter of Stewart and Laverne (Kranung) O’Hare. Shirley married Joseph Michael Schaab. They later divorced.
Shirley formerly worked as a CNA and was the Activity Director at Bettendorf Health Care.
A very social and outgoing person, Shirley loved people and had a special spot in her heart for the elderly. She enjoyed boating on the river, reading and loved nature. Shirley cherished her time spent with her children and grandchildren.
Those left to honor her memory include her children, Gregory Schaab of Davenport and Suzanne (Leroy) Pearson of Moline; grandchildren, Bradley, Carol Ann and Kathleen and her great-granddaughter, Marina.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Terrance.
