Shirley Tappendorf

Shirley J. Tappendorf, 65, a resident of Pleasant Valley, Iowa died Sunday, September 21, 2003 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus in Davenport, Iowa following a sudden illness.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, September 25, 2003 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf. Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Scott County Humane Society.
She was born January 14, 1938 in Rock Island, Illinois, the daughter of Emery & Almeda Moore and was a 1956 graduate of Rock Island High School. She married Richard “Dick” H. Tappendorf in Davenport on November 21, 1981.
Shirley was employed as a jailer and dietician for the Scott County Sheriff’s Office for many years, retiring in 1982.
She loved to play bingo, enjoyed playing cards and treasured the times spent with her beloved family.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Dick; her daughter & son-in-law, Kathy & Mark Brown of Davenport; her sons & daughters-in-law, Lonnie & Brenda Sedam of Davenport and Tim & Denise Sedam of Fairfield, California; her grandchildren, Andrew & Krista Brown, Aaron & Daniel Sedam and Kenny & Adam Sedam; and her brother & sister-in-law, Del & Pat Moore of Milan, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, PeeWee Moore, Don Moore, Bill Moore and David Moore; her parents and her grandparents, Elija & Blanche Moore and Elmwood & Maim Shupp
