Sophia Efstathiou

Sophia Efstathiou, 79, of Bettendorf, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at her home in Bettendorf. There are no services currently being planned.

Sophia was born on August 1, 1945, in Athens, Greece, the daughter of Ioannis and Efthimia (Papaioannou) Roussos. She married Stavros Efstathiou on September 19, 1969, in Greece. He preceded her in death on September 20, 2017. She enjoyed reading, watching Soap Operas, playing Pac-man and Dr. Mario. Her passion was cooking Greek food for her family and loved ones. She also pursued other interests with different occupations and education. She received her accounting degree while in Greece and her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice degree in the states. 

Survivors include her children, Effie Kelley, Ioanna Efstathiou, Nicholas (Lisa) Efstathiou, Christina Efstathiou, Dimitra Efstathiou, grandchildren, Manuel, Athena, Stavros, Charlie, Dimitri, Johnathan, Ariana, Lee, Nicholas, Caitlin, Xiola, and a brother, Babis Roussos of Greece. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a brother, Pavlo Roussos.
