Stephen Kainec

Stephen A. Kainec, 53, of Bettendorf, died Saturday, June 18, 2016 at his mother’s home in Bettendorf.
Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Burial will be at Oakdale Memorial Gardens in Davenport. Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Friday. Memorials may be made to the family.
Stephen was born on November 26, 1962 in San Diego, California, the son of Stephen L. Kainec and Jeri L. (Kainec) McLaughlin. On March 1, 2008 in Bettendorf, he married Lynn (Hall) Fritz.
Stephen held various jobs in the construction field for most of his life. He enjoyed fishing, photography and working with his hands. Stephen cherished his time spent with family.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Lynn Kainec; children, Ashley (Chris Goldax) Fritz of Bettendorf, Sean Paul (Sarah) Kainec of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Mary Kainec of Davenport; a grandson, Owen; mother, Jeri McLaughlin of Bettendorf; father, Stephen L. Kainec of Mesa, Arizona; sisters, Sandra (Randy) Heath of San Jaciento, California and Abbra Shumway of Tennessee; and a brother, Dorian (Julie) Kainec of Taylor Ridge, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his step-father, Monte McLaughlin and a brother-in-law, Darrell Shumway.
