Susan E. Filbrandt, 84, a resident of LeClaire, Iowa died on Sunday, June 18, 2023 at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Friday, June 23, 2023, at the First Presbyterian Church of LeClaire. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. on Friday at the church. Burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery in LeClaire. Memorials may be made to the family. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home of Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.
She was born June 19, 1938 in LeClaire, Iowa, the daughter of Phillip and Dorothy Clayton and was a 1956 graduate of LeClaire High School. She was married to Bruce Filbrandt in LeClaire.
Susan was employed as a cashier at the former Quad-City Downs Racetrack in Silvis, Illinois for over 40 years prior to her retirement. She also worked at Boll’s in Princeton, Iowa and at Sneaky Petes’s in LeClaire in her prime time.
She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was an avid reader making many enjoyable visits to the LeClaire Public Library. Susan loved being outside and taking care of her garden.
She was a long-time member of the First Presbyterian Church of LeClaire and a member of the LeClaire Civic Center.
Those left to honor her memory include her son, Paul Filbrandt of LeClaire; her granddaughters, Savannah Tague of LeClaire and Cheyenna Tague of LeClaire; her great-grandchildren, Katelynn England, Kaydon Osborne, Blake England and Colten England; her great-great-grandson, Jordan Lucas; and two very special friends, Sandy and Rita.
Susan was preceded in death by her daughter, Pamela Tague in 2018 and by her brother, Marty.
