Tearese Simmering

Tearese (Collins) Simmering, 64, a resident of Bettendorf, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2015 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Davenport. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Davenport. Memorials may be made to Centro Maya Project. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on January 8, 1951 in Davenport, Tearese was the daughter of Edward and Kathleen (Lotspeich) Collins. On September 13, 1969, she married Ken Dies. They later divorced. On June 18, 1982, she married Ron Simmering.

Tearese had many jobs throughout her life including working at the Davenport Public Library but her most important and cherished “job” was being a mother and grandmother to her loving family. She enjoyed shopping, traveling and was a member of the Mississippi Valley Hosta Society

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Ron Simmering; sons, Jamie Dies of Davenport, David (Ronda) Dies of Eldridge and Mike (Nicole) Simmering of Davenport; daughter, Melissa (Dana McClanahan) Simmering of Davenport; grandchildren, Nic, Olivia, River and Ryder; brother, Jeff (Mitzie) Collins of Naples, Florida; sister-in-law, Kay Collins of Davenport; many nieces and nephews; and a dear friend, Jeanne Nakamaru.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Patrick.
