Terry L. Farley, 64, a resident of Davenport, Iowa died on Monday, September 1, 2008 at Trinity at Terrace Park Hospital in Bettendorf, Iowa following a courageous battle with cancer.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 4, 2008 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel in Bettendorf. Burial will be at St. Ann’s Cemetery, Long Grove, Iowa. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.
He was born April 7, 1944 in Davenport, the son of Harold D. & Betty L. (McHenry) Farley. On June 18, 1966, he was united in marriage to Jeanie Ragona in Centerville, Iowa.
Terry owned & operated Fraker Window & Siding Company of Davenport for the past 24 years
He was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing, hunting & playing pool. Terry won over 100 fishing awards & tournaments including first place at the Lake McBride Largemouth Bass Tournament in 1983 and first place in the I. N. Bass Team Tournament in 1989.
He was an active member of the Quad-City Bass Club and was named “Fisherman of the Year” in 1988, 1989 and 1991. He placed in the Team Supreme with a $25,000 purse in 2001 and placed in the Iowa-Nebraska Bass Tournament of Champions in 1990 where he was the recipient of a new bass boat.
Even though he loved hunting & fishing, his beloved family always came first in his life. He was a devoted husband & father and will be sadly missed by all who knew & loved him.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Jeanie; his daughter, Missy (Dwight) Gittings of Calamus, Iowa; his son, Terry (Amy) Farley Jr. of Davenport; his granddaughters, Brittany & Krystal; his mother, Betty Farley of Davenport; his sister, Renee Farley of Davenport; his brother, Bob (Kim) Farley of Davenport; and five nieces.
His brother, Tom; and his father, Harold, preceded Terry in death.
