Terryl Ray “Terry” Helble, 68, a resident of Bettendorf, died Saturday, September 13, 2014 at UnityPoint Trinity Bettendorf Hospital.
Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until time of services on Tuesday. Memorials may be made to Huntington’s Disease Society of America.
Born on September 3, 1946 in Davenport, Terry was the son of LeRoy and Virginia (Leek) Helble. On April 8, 1972 at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Rock Island, he married Cathleen Marie Nelson.
Terry joined the United States Army after graduating high school in 1965 and served his country during the Vietnam War. He Owned and operated the former T&C Brake and Oil in downtown Davenport. Terry was an avid volunteer, assisting with all sports activities at Bettendorf High School and with Colt League Baseball in Bettendorf. He was a member of McCausland United Methodist Church. Terry cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Cathleen; his children, Tracy (Corey) Daniels of Moline, Heather (Thom) Gross of Davenport and Bryon Helble of Bettendorf; grandchildren, Jenna Gross, Mason Daniels and Natalee Gross; and two brothers, Richard Helble of St. Augustine, FL and Glen (Janet) Helble of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
