Terry R. Williams, 51, of Davenport, Iowa, died Sunday, March 21, 2010 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus, Davenport.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. until the time of the services on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.
Terry was born October 8, 1958 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of David & Joanne (Monaghan) Williams. He was united in marriage to Kimberly L. Swope on March 12, 1996 in Jamaica.
Terry was an over-the-road truck driver and had earned over a million and a quarter accident-free miles. He enjoyed welding, being outdoors, drinking with his buddies and the company of his dog, Gizzy.
Terry could fix anything with his Swiss Army knife and a roll of duct tape. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his loyalty, honesty, integrity and kindness.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Kim; his children, Kayla Williams of Monroe, Iowa and Nathan Williams of Moravia, Iowa; his step-children, Natasha Crossen of Davenport and Cody Dobbs of Rock Island, Illinois; five grandchildren and one expected soon; his father, David (Joyce) Williams, of Burlington, Iowa; his sisters, Linda Long, of Ottumwa, Kathy (Tony) Sedore, of Cedar Rapids and formerly of Ottumwa; Betty Jo (Stewart) Findlay, of Ottumwa and Teresa (Terry) Dotson of Glenwood, Missouri; and his sister-in-law, Charlotte Williams, of Ottumwa.
Terry was preceded in death by his mother, Joanne; and his brother, David.
