Thelma M. Ehredt, 81, of Long Grove, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 28, 2016 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the services on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in McCausland Cemetery.
Thelma was born August 31, 1935 in Grand River, Iowa, the daughter of Russell "Bucky" and Lelia "Pete" (LeBarge) Carber. She was united in marriage to Thomas C. Ehredt on October 19, 1963 in Bettendorf. He preceded her in death on September 18, 2010.
Thelma was in the banking business for more than fifty years in the Quad-Cities. She started her career at Bettendorf Bank & Trust and continued to work at various financial institutions. After retiring from banking, she continued her employment with her daughter and son-in-law at Heartland Oaks, Inc.
Those left to honor Thelma’s memory include her daughter and son-in-law, Laura Lynn & Paul Steward of Long Grove, and her grandson, Mark Steward and his girlfriend, Jacquolyn Willits. Thelma enjoyed spending time with them and was very proud and supportive of their accomplishments. She is also survived by her three loving sisters, Reba Anderson and Patricia Hendricks of Bettendorf and Connie (Dale) Baughman of Benton, Wisconsin.
In addition to her husband, Thomas, Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Peggy Roman and her brother, Larry Carber.
Thelma’s family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Rupa Bontu and her assistant Sue for all of their care and concern for Thelma during her illness.
