Thelma G. Broderick, 86, of Bettendorf, died Sunday, March 18, 2007 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Private family services will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the family.
Thelma was born March 4, 1921 in Davenport, the daughter of George & Medina (Gire) Hill. She was united in marriage to Robert W. Broderick in 1939 in Davenport. He preceded her in death on September 25, 1976.
Thelma was self-employed as a house cleaner for 37 years. She enjoyed playing bingo, traveling and spending time with her family. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara & Tom Butenschoen, of Blue Grass, Iowa; her sons, Robert Broderick and his wife, Joan, of Bettendorf, Charles Broderick and his wife, Rejeana, of Davenport, and Kevin Broderick, of Bettendorf; twelve grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; her sisters, Louise Gooddale, of Davenport, Dorothy Musal, of LeClaire, Iowa, and Tracey Hoos, and her husband, Lloyd, of Davenport; her sisters-in-law, Darlene Hill, of Davenport, Marie Hill, of Muscatine, Iowa, and Penny Hill of Michigan; and her brother-in-law, Tom Aiello, of Davenport.
In addition to her husband, Robert, she was preceded in death by her parents; her son, James; her sister, Stella Aiello; and her brothers, Virgil “Buck” Hill, Walter Hill and Harlan Hill.
