Theodore A. "Ted" Rice

Theodore A. “Ted” Rice, 74, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died on Friday, May 19, 2006 at Trinity Pathway Hospice in Bettendorf.
His funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday, May 22, 2006 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.
He was born June 1, 1931 in Jefferson City, Missouri, the son of Victor E. & Ava (Spicer) Rice.
Ted was employed as a tool crib operator for the J. I. Case Company of Bettendorf, retiring in 1988 after 30 years of service.
He was a former member and union steward of the United Auto Workers Union.
Among the things he enjoyed were gardening, fishing, hunting and the St. Louis Cardinals.
Those left to honor his memory include his daughters, Twilla (Rick) Fernandez of Colona, Illinois, Cheryl Hillman of Burlington, Iowa, Carol Peterson of Davenport, Iowa and Cherie Rice of Bettendorf; his sons, Ted (Sandy) Rice of Jacksonville, Florida and Gary (Liliana) Rice of San Diego, California; sixteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Betty and Bernice, both of Desota, Missouri.
Ted was preceded in death by his great-grandsons, Brandon Rice & Tyler Rice; one sister; and four brothers.
