Thomas M. Rowold, 74, of Princeton, Iowa, died in peace on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus in Davenport, Iowa after a hard fought battle with cancer.

His memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, September 28, 2015 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in East Moline, Illinois where he was a member.  Burial will be at a later date in Fulton, Missouri.  Memorials may be made to the Boy Scout Organization through Tom’s Church or to the American Cancer Society.

Tom was born May 12, 1941 in Davenport, the son of Alfred “Shadow” and Ruth E. (Morgan) Rowold. He grew up in Wheatland, Iowa and after graduation from Wheatland High School, he continued his education by earning degrees from Clinton Community College, Augustana College and Michigan State University. His first career was as a science teacher at Lost Nation Community School District. He also was an instructor at Wisconsin State University, Richland for one year.

After retiring from teaching he was employed as a consultant and analytical chemist in the water and wastewater treatment fields with WQM in Coralville, Iowa. His next jobs were Wastewater Treatment Plant Superintendent and later Public Works Director for the City of Coralville after which he moved on to become Branch Manager for Utility Equipment Company in Bettendorf. He retired from Harry's Farm Tire in Wheatland in June 2015 at the age of 74.

Tom’s spare time activities revolved around his great love for nature and included hunting, fishing and camping. He also served in various positions within his church sponsored Boy Scout Troop.

Tom's children include two biological children from his first marriage, Tim (Audra) Rowold of Wichita, Kansas and Teresa (Brian) Furlong of Atlanta, Georgia; three stepchildren from his second marriage,  Bill Williams of Davenport, Randy (Stefanie) Williams of Park View and Linda Coudron of Davenport; he also leaves behind his much beloved wife, Beverly; fourteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; His surviving siblings include Jeanene Cavey, Harry Rowold and Richard Rowold, all of Wheatland and Ben Rowold of Iowa City, Iowa.
