Thomas Russell

Thomas Russell, 70, of Eldridge, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at the University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics, Iowa City.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday February 24th, 2022 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf.  Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. Noon until the time of service.  Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery.  Memorials may be directed to the family.

Thomas was born on November 27, 1951 in Rockford, Illinois, to Harold and Margaret Russell. He graduated from Morrison Institute of Drafting and Technology where he received a drafting degree.  In 1973, he married Linda L. Holland.  Over the last 40 years, Thomas worked for several contractors and companies in the Quad City area.  He enjoyed 56 years of square dance calling, acquiring caller hall of fame awards, as well as holding several officer committee positions in the square dancing community. His greatest loves were square dancing, camping, and family.

Those left to honor his memory are his wife, Linda Russell of Eldridge; daughter, Lynn (Michael) Kennedy of Eldridge; son, Tim (Tara) Russell of Minnesota; five grandchildren, Madelynn, Hunter, Joshua, Chancelor, and Lorelai; and his extra special very beloved, Babe.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Wesley.
