Thomas L. Mcallister

Thomas L. McAllister, 58, of Bettendorf, Iowa, died Saturday, September 3, 2005 at his residence. Gravesite services will be held at 1:30 P.M., Tuesday, September 6, 2005 at the Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island, Illinois. Those wishing to attend the service should meet at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday. Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross.
Tom was born October 19, 1946 in Ottumwa, Iowa, the son of Jess & Irene (Parker) McAllister. He was united in marriage to Pat S. Katko on January 28, 1972 in Ottumwa.
During the Vietnam conflict, Tom served in the United States Air Force. He was honorably discharged in 1970.
Tom had been employed as a machinist for Farmall International Harvester and for the former Marley Pump Company. He enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals and racecar driving.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Pat; his mother, Irene, of Ottumwa; his daughter, Staci McAllister, of Oakland, California; his son Shane McAllister, of Bettendorf; his sister Jean, of Ottumwa; and his brothers Jack and Wayne, of Ottumwa.
He was preceded in death by his father; and by his sister, Phyllis.
